Cynthia McMahan is a rising third-year medical student at the University of Pittsburgh. She grew up in Northern Virginia and went to university in Montréal, where exposure to Indigenous environmental principles challenged her worldview and sparked an interest in environmental stewardship. She hopes to work in primary care, incorporating both health policy and climate action into her career. Her hobbies include fermenting vegetables, watching documentaries, and spending time with her cats.
