Dr. Werner joined the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine Department of Oral and Craniofacial Sciences in 2023 as an assistant professor. She received her PhD in anatomy from Penn State College of Medicine and holds a BA in Anthropology and Sociology from the University of Pittsburgh.  

Dr. Werner has a clear passion for the environment and an interest in driving change toward sustainability across all areas of the School of Dental Medicine. She served as a member of the Graduate Student Association Sustainability Committee at Penn State College of Medicine, which focused on creating a more sustainable medical research environment. She is eager to increase awareness of the need to build sustainable models to support the future environment and provide resources to drive change.
