Stephanie Maximous, MD, MS

Dr. Maximous is a clinician-educator who practices pulmonary and critical care medicine at several UPMC sites in Pittsburgh and across the system via telemedicine. She is the Associate Program Director for the University of Pittsburgh Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine training program and core subspecialty faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency program. She also co-chairs the Sustainability and Climate Health Education Committee for Clinicians for Climate Action (C4CA). Dr. Maximous key interest is how we train the next generation of clinicians to both understand the implications of climate change on patients’ health and how clinicians can advocate for environmental justice. 

Dr. Maximous completed her internal medicine residency at Boston Medical Center, followed by a year working in rural Rwanda with Partners in Health.
