Dr. Bui is an internist and clinician-educator involved in undergraduate and graduate medical education. She received the 2024 Chancellor’s Distinguished Public Service Award for her commitment to social medicine and social justice, specifically for historically marginalized groups. She is responsible for several curricular initiatives related to social determinants of health, social needs intervention, anti-racist curriculum, refugee health, global workforce crisis and humanism in medicine. She is the co-chair of the health equity committee for Clinicians for Climate Action (C4CA) with a focus on community engagement and environmental justice. Her research focus is on global health workforce and training, point-of-care ultrasound in resource-limited settings, racism in medicine and interventions to address social determinants of health. 

Dr. Bui attended Tulane University and Washington University. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Alabama Hospitals, Birmingham.
