Kelly Barko is a PhD student in the Center for Neuroscience Graduate Program at the University of Pittsburgh, co-mentored by Drs. Marianne Seney and Matt MacDonald in the Department of Psychiatry. Her research focuses on investigating the molecular mechanisms of mood-related disorders, such as major depressive disorder, using transcriptomics and proteomics. She joined the OSHS Steering Committee to help make biomedical research more sustainable. Outside the lab, you’ll likely find her exploring the trails in Frick or Schenley Park.
